I'll keep updating this journal as I get ready for my big trip.

A short stop to smell the roses

While Dave was at his ranch, Petra and I had a wonderful day. We waited until it warmed up a bit and around 11.30 in the morning we left for our ride for the day. And also to check out the local stores (2 in all…). First, we stopped at a Mennonite store (about ¼ mile from where we are staying). We found out they have all kinds of good stuff, produce, meat, baked goods and all kind of other things. I do not think we have to go to Wal-Mart anymore while we are here. Then we continued our ride, after the first 10 miles it had warmed up enough to take off our jackets. It sure was fun being able to ride with someone. We rode for a few hours, even tried to go to “Cochise stronghold” (a historic site) But ended up at a dirt road and after 2 miles and being all shook up (even a sign said “primitive road” ) we decided to turn around and come back in the car some other time.

Dave came home around 6.00 pm after a great day at the ranch. One day this week Petra and I are going to go over there and see what he is learning…
