Training - Day 13 & 14

I'll keep updating this journal as I get ready for my big trip.

The road we took trough the Dragoon Mountains

It is Sunday night and I can say we had a great weekend being tourists. Saturday morning the 3 of us (Tom, Dave and I) started out visiting Annie (who Dave got to know at the ranch) Annie also is a wrangler at a Dude Ranch around here so we went over and she gave us a tour. A wonderful Ranch tucked away in the Dragoon Mountains. From there we continued taking a dirt road very slowly through the Dragoon Mountains to Tombstone (where Petra and I had been the week before only via highway).

Arda being the tourist!

Our shortcut took an hour longer time wise, but it was just beautiful to see the mountains like that. Good thing we had a 4-wheel drive… In Tombstone, we went to another reenactment, this time a different one, which was also very well done.

As we passed a campground in the park, coming down from the mountains

After church today, we went ones again to the Chiricahua Mountains since Dave had not been there yes, Tom joined us to do some of his Geocashing over there. Last time I was there, I did not do too much sightseeing while I had a long way to bike back. So today, we spend a while at the top of the mountains for pictures and some hiking. After that we drove to “Fort Bowie” a National historic site, but that was a little disappointing to us, so we did not stay there long.

Another part of the mountains, a totally different landscape!

I’ll tell you one thing, I am glad I didn’t go biking today… The wind here is 35 mph with gusts of 50 mph. Those tumbleweeds are tumbling today…

Another sight of the Chiricahua Mountains
