Day 6, 79 miles Total miles 422
We left Savannah this morning around 9.00 am. All 3 Lojek’s are fighting a cold which is not fun when you bike all day. Melissa started out in the car with Dave, so Mile, Andy, Mary, and I rode the first 30 miles together and was it a fun ride because we finely had a tail wind. After we had gone 20 some miles we were starting to look for Dave and Melissa, but every time we came around a curve there was nothing in the distance. Finally at mile 30 we called them and as it turned out they had been shopping for our lunch and by the time they got to the next turn for us we had already passed them (what a tailwind does for you‼‼) So we missed our turn. Well our sag meister came to where we were and recalculated our route so we did not have to back track. At that point Melissa started to ride with us again so we did another 20 miles before lunch. The weather was fantastic, a real “no sleeve” day… The country side was beautiful, lots of those old oak trees as you can see in one picture.
Lunch was another picnic which we all enjoyed, and lots of food in the back of the truck. And as we were leaving, Andy fell over while clipped in , ha ha (see picture, it happens to the best of us….)
The end of our day was a little place called Odum. Because it is Sunday there were not many restaurants open so we ate at Pizza Inn. It is hard to believe that we have finished day 6 already. This is just so much fun‼!
