Day 4 71 miles Total 289 miles
Yesterday may have been a little rainy, but today was a perfect day. We started out with a windbreaker on but by noon we were riding in short sleeves. The roads were great, a lot of new smooth pavement, and not too busy some of the time we could even ride all side by side. We rode all day in “rural America” along cotton fields pecan trees and lots of forest. It is just amazing to me that you can ride for hours without seeing a town (Can’t do that where I come from) The first town we saw was our days destination the historical town of Statesboro Georgia. Yes we crossed our first state line for this trip. We also had a nice visit with another biker “Bob” he was going the opposite direction we were but turned around to ride with us for a bit to check out where we were going. He was a truck driver for Wall mart and takes his bike everywhere and just stops his truck somewhere and rides his bike for a while. What a fun way to ride all over the country.

Lunch today was a problem again, no restaurants anywhere. Dave could not even find a store to buy anything. So he finely found a gas station where he was able to buy a loaf of bread and some bologna. Bags of potato chips and snicker bars. So we had another nice picnic on the side of the road. We arrived in Statesboro around 3.45 pm, after a long day riding it is always so nice to take a shower, have a good dinner (with a nice glass of wine) and usually it is bedtime early…..
